Four Holiday Videos Your Company can Produce in 2020

You’ve done a holiday video every year. Or maybe this was the year you were going to show off your staff with your first holiday video. But 2020 has changed things. The pandemic closed your office and everyone is now working at home. There’s no need to say, “Bah Humbug” and scrap your plans.

Agile-Video compiled a list of four types of video you can produce this holiday even though your office is as quiet as a mouse. But, you better get planning. Christmas is just around the corner and holiday videos need need time to produce.

Motion Graphics Holiday Cheer

So you can’t do a choreographed holiday dance number with your entire staff because the Grinch (the pandemic) stole your employees from your office. That’s ok! You can still show off your talented employees with the magic of motion graphics. This is the perfect socially distanced solution. There are no big video shoots. People don’t need to gather together. And there are platforms to help you do this. (See a few options below.)

MultiVideoDigital created a fun motion graphics holiday video highlighting its employees. We love this example because the company is able to showcase its personnel’s personalities. And they were able to do this through photos and motion graphics. Take a look.

This example feels like it was custom created. But, there are templates available to do something similar. Here are a few places you can find these templates to help spread your holiday cheer.

Some of these platforms are free. Some of them cost money. But all of them are great options if you can’t do a big Hollywood production this year.

Executive Holiday Greeting

Maybe motion graphics just don’t present the heart-felt message you want to give this year. Another option is to do a simple video shoot where you or someone in your organization directly addresses your customers and/or employees. This is a cost effective way to deliver your message and still spread holiday cheer. You can hire a professional to shoot this video or you can do it yourself using your phone or other services. (See other services below.)

Every year, the Scout Executive from the Greater Alabama Boy Scouts produces a well thought out message for the holidays. We love how the executive ties in current events to the education of our youth. The producers also added photos so it wasn’t the executive on camera for the entire three minutes.

If you don’t have budget for a video production company, you can do this yourself. Your phone is an option. You can also check out these platforms.

Like the motion graphics platforms, some of these are free and some cost money.

Recycle Your Holiday Memories

Well, we don’t literally mean just send out your previous holiday videos. However, that is an option. Over the years, you have collected video and photos of your company and your employees. You’ve shot thousands of photos at company events. You’ve taken screen shots of virtual happy hours. You have selfies of employees celebrating wins. Don’t treat these goodies like the fruitcake you get every year from Aunt Joy. Turn this content into the tastiest Christmas cookies you can. We’re talking rich, buttery Christmas cookies with tons of frosting and sprinkles. You, your executives, or anyone really within your company or organization can do this. Just write a simple script with your heartfelt message and cover it with the fun shots you’ve gathered over the years. Customers and employees love seeing these photos! You become more authentic and slightly vulnerable going this route. But, you create content gold.

This example showcases Howard County and celebrates Toys for Tots. It’s a great way to show how the organization supports the community. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the holidays by spreading joy and happiness.

Virtual Holiday Party

Ok, this last idea isn’t really a video to share with your customers per se. But, while researching this blog, I came across the idea of virtual party games. 2020 really doesn’t allow us to gather at the office or restaurant or bar so why not let loose virtually? The video below offers some G-rated options for your office. Go ahead and get creative. Don’t let the pandemic ruin your holiday spirit.

Avoid a Blue Christmas

Christmas is about joy and happiness. We all need that right now. These are just a few ideas to help put a smile on your customers and your employees. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from the team at Agile Video.
